Getting Lucky

No, I’m not talking about THAT kind of lucky.  But I am talking about every one of us having our own golden voice.  Yes, I am talking about the wonderful story about Ted Williams, the man with the Golden Voice!  How can you not tear up after hearing his story?  Thanks to a little bit of innovation and a whole lot of luck this man had by far his luckiest 24 hours yesterday.  It’s always amazing to hear about great things happening to wonderful people. I could listen to this man’s story all day and read about it all night but there are a couple of key take away’s I want everyone to think about:

* This guy knew what he had, his core skill let’s say, his golden voice.  He realized that he had to capitalize on it and the only way he could do that was to advertise it…on his cardboard billboard. After a lot of perseverance, it worked.

* All of this may not have happened without social media.  Do you realize that if one guy who enjoyed Ted’s voice didn’t video tape him and put the video up on YouTube Ted may still be out on the streets?  The power of social media is amazing, but it’s all in how you use it.

Good luck, and what did you do today?
